A house in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood near Camelback Mountain designed and built by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright for his son David Wright and daughter-in-law is being donated to the School of Architecture at Taliesin. The school previously was named the Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture.
The David and Gladys Wright House is owned by attorney Zach Rawling. He bought the mid-century house to save it from demolition. But plans to host some events and weddings at the property ran into opposition some wealthy Arcadia neighbors.
Rawling set up a nonprofit to own the house and had explored donating to Arizona State University. Now, the plan is to donate to the architecture school based Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West Scottsdale and Taliesin in Wisconsin.
